What To Expect
You will find several talented clinicians involved with your oral therapy at our office. Because this concept may be new to you, a short explanation will probably help you understand the logic behind this type of practice. Your dentist will be responsible for your overall therapy. Even though we have four wonderful dentists, we want to keep you scheduled with your preferred dentist in our practice. Our registered dental hygienists will accomplish your oral cleanings and take any necessary dental records during your preventative appointments. The expanded duty dental assistants will also take any necessary records at your restorative visit. Some clinical tasks accomplished for you in the past by a previous dentist will be done by our qualified and experienced dental assistants. You will enjoy the professionalism and efficiency of our team and their clinical activities will help to keep costs down.
Your first visit begins with a warm welcome and a beverage while you relax in a quiet area. You may review some of our completed cases or read one of our many selections in our private library. The children can play foosball, play with toys, watch a Disney movie or read books in the separate children's room.
A pleasant clinician will greet you, review your medical history, and discuss any dental concerns that you might have, as well as your goals for your oral health. Next we will begin a series of digital photographs of the inside of your mouth and digital x-rays. We will record your blood pressure and perform a screening for gum disease, oral cancer, and also an exam of the teeth, joints, bite, and muscles. Generally, this thorough exam will take ninety minutes.
After gathering all of the information, we can determine what type of cleaning should be done. Sometimes patients can have a regular cleaning done during the initial visit or may reschedule for another day. Together you and the treatment coordinator can decide how to pursue any needed or desired care during the consultation. At this time you are welcome to discuss your scheduling preferences and financing questions.
